I began the day cleaning house and doing laundry...I didn't know what to do with the huge bag of ginger gold apples Randy bought at Sunny Slope this week...I know this isn't really a sew or craft thing to do, but I just got sew involved with putting apples in the crock pot, I never started sewing like I had originally planned. Sew...I had to put SOMETHING on the blog, since Sharon is the only one who ever posts anything. Her projects are beautiful...mine today is YUMMY. I also put a bunch of peaches in the freezer. This was the product of half of the twenty pound bag he bought...minus what I snacked on while cooking. WELL...you have to taste stuff! Enjoy apples and squash this fall....its my favorite season for eating!

Baby Quilt for Amanda's little boy

I made this quilt about a month ago, for Dylan and Amanda's baby. It's appropriate because Amanda's family is into wildlife stuff. When I bought the kit, I thought it would be good whether it was a boy or girl, but after I finished it, I thought it looked more like a baby boy quilt. So, I sure was happy to hear it's a boy!

Who Cooks for You?
Here is my latest quilt creation. I stitched out the leaves and owls with my computerized machine, then free motioned the "thread painting" on the owls, and appliqued the fabric on to make the leaves using the computer again. Sound confusing? Well, I'm a bit confused too.
Anyway, this is a quilt I made in response to a challenge. Our machine quilting club was challenged to do a "whole cloth" quilt. You have to start with one piece of cloth, and make the entire quilt on the longarm. No piecing. We decided that applique was acceptable, as long as you did it on the longarm. Sew, this is my challenge quilt. I am showing a picture of the whole quilt, and a close up of one of the owls.

A Sign for Sharon Sew and Sew

I made this sign to advertise my shop if I ever do any more shows. It's a quilt that measures about 30 inches high by 45 inches wide. I put the letters on with fabric paints, and the ladybug is appliqued on. I found the border fabric with the Amish scenery and quilts on clotheslines at a big sale at Miller's Fabrics in Amish Country.
