Who Cooks for You?
Here is my latest quilt creation. I stitched out the leaves and owls with my computerized machine, then free motioned the "thread painting" on the owls, and appliqued the fabric on to make the leaves using the computer again. Sound confusing? Well, I'm a bit confused too.
Anyway, this is a quilt I made in response to a challenge. Our machine quilting club was challenged to do a "whole cloth" quilt. You have to start with one piece of cloth, and make the entire quilt on the longarm. No piecing. We decided that applique was acceptable, as long as you did it on the longarm. Sew, this is my challenge quilt. I am showing a picture of the whole quilt, and a close up of one of the owls.

A Sign for Sharon Sew and Sew

I made this sign to advertise my shop if I ever do any more shows. It's a quilt that measures about 30 inches high by 45 inches wide. I put the letters on with fabric paints, and the ladybug is appliqued on. I found the border fabric with the Amish scenery and quilts on clotheslines at a big sale at Miller's Fabrics in Amish Country.

I couldn't BELIEVE it, but

Here is a picture of a quilt you have seen before, but you have never seen it with a big purple ribbon attached! On January 17, I posted some photos of the quilt being made. (Those pictures were a little better than this one, because I took this with my webcam since I can't locate my real camera right now)
Anyway, this past weekend, I took this quilt to a judged quilt show in Lore City, and I won BEST OF SHOW!!! I am sew excited!

Can you stand one more from me?
This was one of those quilts that I just couldn't stop working on until it was done. The wildflowers are appliqued on my embroidery machine. The piecing was like one of those PITA quilts (Pain in the A$$) One thing after another went wrong! Tomorrow, I'll take it to work with me and see if I can find an appropriate border. It just may go borderless.

Hey Gals
Sorry i haven't been here lately, been busy with "other stuff" like painting our living room. Yep it's not red anymore.
I can't remember when I posted the call out for another craft day at my house, so would one of you please send me an email as to whether the first or second of August is good for it. Thanks.
I will be working on getting the guest room aired out, my friend Bea said it smelled like a dead person lived in there, so I guess I better open the windows and let in some light.
Also my Fergus has been really sick and back and forth to the Vet lately. Seems to be on the mend today though finally. He's eating again.
I have done a little bit of sewing, got a tiny purse made for Kim and one from a new pattern. Will post pictures of them later unless you are going to be here on the 1st.
Later,
Joann
